Do our actions match what we say? Yale asks
According to a January 2010 study by the Yale Project on Climate Change, Americans’ Actions to Conserve Energy, Reduce Waste, and Limit Global Warming (http://ardwinna.forestry.yale.edu/emailmarketer/link.php?M=1594&N=20&L=15&F=T), there is a significant gap between Americans’ conservation attitudes and their actual behaviors.
Here are some of the Yale study findings related to transportation:
- 76% say it is important to walk or bike instead of driving, but only 15 percent “often” or “always” do
- 72% of Americans say it is important to use public transportation or carpool, but only 10 percent say they “often” or “always” do
