Interactive Science Inc., Microsoft, Jim Baer, and Vinod Khosla sponsor the Drive Less Challenge
Sponsors are stepping forward to support the Drive Less Challenge. Interactive Science Inc, Microsoft, Jim Baer, and Vinod Khosla have all become major sponsors. Interactive Science, Inc is a local non-profit focusing on supporting computers for education. Microsoft needs no introduction. Jim Baer is a noted real estate developer in Palo Alto. Vinod Khosla is a venture capital investor with a major interest interest in green technology.
In 2010, the Drive Less Challenge is developing a unique online tool for the Challenge this year to make it a fun experience where you can track your trips, see how you’re doing compared to others, and see how the community is making progress to reduce our carbon footprint. This tool will be re-usable beyond the current Challenge starting on Earth Day – we’ll be able to use it for other Challenge periods, and to expand the Drive Less Challenge to many more people. The funding is contributing to developing the tool, upgrading the look and feel of the website, and creating publicity material to spread the word about the Drive Less Challenge.
